Bicycle Maintenance Workshops

Time to brush up on your bike maintenance skills or learn something new to keep your bike in good running condition? Bike North and City of Ryde Council are hosting two Bicycle Maintenance Skills Workshops coming up soon. Please register if you wish to attend.

Basic Bicycle Maintenance

Learn the basics of bike maintenance:
– replace an inner-tube on a ride after a puncture
– deal with simple on-ride mechanical issues such as realigning a slipped chain
Keep you bike in reasonable running order, cleaning and chain lubrication, adjusting seat height on your bike and learn how to spot mechanical problems.

Bring your own bike to practice and learn on!

Intermediate Bicycle Maintenance

Go beyond the basics, identify worn or damaged brakes, crank bearings, chains. Learn how to use bicycle specific tools like spoke keys and chain tools. Learn how to repair punctures on tubeless tyres using plugs and how to make small adjustments to brakes, gears or wheels and handle on-ride mechancial adjustments.

Professional bicycle mechanics from FixnGo will be leading some of the demonstrations of bicycle mechanics on this intermediate level session. Bring your own bike to learn on and there will be a spare bike you can practice on.
