Organise Bike North, its Executive and activities.
Chair all general and executive meetings.
Maintain contact with all Executive and Other Working positions to
ensure that they are operating effectively according to these position
descriptions.
Maintain contact with all working groups through email, personal contact, phone contact,
attending meetings and receiving reports.
Maintain contact with neighbouring BUGs, BNSW and BFA on relevant
issues.
Be a primary public contact and field and reply to enquiries to Bike North.
Post appropriate material to bn_news list with regard to message frequency.
Attend the Bike North Executive meetings
Keep a watching brief on any current issues in society that have a
bicycle implication.
A few words from Tom
Having barely ridden a bicycle since I was a kid I felt obligated to get going again when Tony Abbott came along to the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney where I then worked. Tony offered to give the proceeds from the annual Pollie Pedal to our Centre for Indigenous Health for three years. Some colleagues and I felt we had at least to ride part of the way! That got me going and finding a BN leaflet at my local bike shop I decided to join. That was in 2009 and I am still riding whenever I can. Having enjoyed the rides, I decided (with retirement pending!) to chip in and help keep BN going strong!
