Full DescriptionCall to confirm start time and place - whether you have or have not done this ride before with Bike North. If you have not done this ride before, you MUST call the ride leader to confirm and discusss suitablility before the date.

This ride is hard and will test your strength and endurance but is a great group riding experience.

You will be expected to keep up with the peleton as it travels along either the motorway shoulder or the cycleway at an average approaching (and in certain sections exceeding) 30km/h.

The terrain is generally flat with a few undulations (particularly towards the middle and the final 10km) where there are significant climbs to deal with (we will wait for you at the tops).

Your bike should be in a good mechanical condition. You should be both fit and experienced on your bike (including minor repairs eg punctures) as well as being able to deal with passing traffic on the motorway at high speed. You should carry additional water and sustenance as there are no definite food stops to gorge yourself.

It is essential that you carry enough water to last you at least 30 km of riding (2 bottles) as, apart from the coffee stop, there are few taps en-route (approx 30 km from the start/finish).
