This route is the reverse of Footloose in the Foothills, and while it is a marginally safer route (because we do the busier roads earlier, and because we go anti-clockwise), it is also harder by virtue of some steep climbs. (16% +) Most of the hard climbing is done in the first half of the ride. There is a very steep but short climb in Valley Way, followed by a longer and still steep climb up Tennyson Rd to join East Kurrajong Rd. After crossing Bells Line of Rd and passing through Kurrajong village the road starts to reward you with some great downhill stretches. We take a detour along Grose Wold and Grose River Roads and the final big climb is back off this road onto Grose Vale Rd. FInally, after passing through North Richmond we turn off and sprint along the flat roads of the grass farms back to the start. |
