Full DescriptionRide a shared path from Woy Woy to East Gosford with expansive views across Brisbane Water for 12 km after which we leave to tackle a few hills on back roads with intermittent bike lanes with some traffic from historic East Gosford to Terrigal Beach, where we stop for coffee at the Cove Cafe on a veranda overlooking Terrigal Haven Bay.

We continue up and over a ridge along the aptly named Scenic Drive, pausing occasionally to taking in ocean views before taking care on a moderate descent on the hard shoulder to Avoca Beach where he have a brief stop to check out the historic Picture Theatre.

We then continue up and over another ridge to Copacabana Beach, an undeveloped jewel of the Central Coast with time to consume an ice block while taking in the beach scene.

We then climb to Cullens Road, a ridge road with farmland on both sides of the road before taking care on yet another moderate descent to Empire Bay Drive where we ride 13 km on a good hard shoulder to the Rip Bridge after which we turn off to the highly attractive Ettalong Beach with great views across the bay to Lions Island and beaches around the bay.

Heading back toward Woy Woy on the Memorial Drive, we turn off onto another waterfront shared path for 6 km which ends 1 km from Woy Woy Station and the train ride home.

Being a tourist centre, the area, with generally low traffic on the roads, is well serviced with cafes, toilet blocks and water stations that are increasingly becoming part of the recreational landscape.
