Turning off at Morgans Road, the difficulty of this ride becomes apparent with a short 17% incline. This is followed by a steep difficult and potential hazardous descent with potholes and speed bumps that are barely visible. Extreme care needs to be taken on this descent as it is surrounded by steep cliff faces on both sides of the road. Once in the town of Wendoree Park, one should expect some amount of residential traffic on this narrow one car width road along with some surface imperfections on the road. The view out to Spencer across the Hawkesbury is unfortunately clouded by the houses and natural flora. We turn back around and climb the multiple steep inclines before getting back on the Old Pacific Highway for the road back to the start. There are virtually no bail out points on this ride and toilet stops are hard to find. Participants are expected to be completely self sufficient with bikes in excellent condition. |
