My first cycling experience started as a kid as it was our only form of transport. My main sport as a teenager was ice speed skating and part of the training involved cycling as a summer sport in The Netherlands.

I took up cycling again when I was lucky enough to find a job reasonably close to home. It was too much hassle to take the car. The first few weeks were not as easy as I expected as I was not at all used to riding the hills in our area. Having built up my bike fitness a bit and having bought a different bike I started to really enjoy my cycling experience. After a while I thought it would be nice to ride with other people. That is when I discovered Bike North. I have since met quite a few really nice people who also enjoy cycling and I have discovered a whole new way of getting around the City. It also has taken us to some lovely spots, mainly in Victoria and South Australia to go on a cycling holiday. There is nothing better than cycling with people who enjoy the same experience.
